LS Farmstead

*When you put your mind to it, anything is possible*

The LS Farmstead story.

Established in 1996 as a hobby farm, LS Farmstead has grown as the proud home of Farmstead Aussies, Farmstead Duroc Pigs, Farmstead Kiko Goats along with Farmstead Meats and more.   Our barn featured above was built in 1910; of course, we have put a metal roof on, shored up the piers, and chopped that Wisteria to the ground more than once.   She is a beautiful piece of history and multipurpose for the Farmstead in many ways.  This sturdy barn stores hay and other feeds, has a goat shed, nursery stalls, and horse stalls along with a sow farrowing stall as this old farm's backbone.

We became interested in growing our own food when I was diagnosed with stage III Breast Cancer in 2006.  Trying to eat “cleaner” became an obsession.   The farm has fruit trees, blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries alongside beautiful raised organic garden beds for personal farm use.   We started growing our own livestock and eggs as I wanted to know where my food came from, how it was raised, what was fed, and how it came to me as nourishment.  It only made sense to offer others clean farm-raised Duroc and Duroc cross weaned pigs, Kiko goats, and farm-to-table meats and eggs.

Farmstead Aussies, now that's another story, being a responsible Australian Shepherd dog breeder who offers quality puppies for sale is my passion.  Please see Trixie’s story under the Farmstead Aussies tab.

Best to all,

Lori Sias
